This was my friend S's restaurant pick, and he chose Fortune Garden. I've never been there before, but I've always heard good things about the place. My parents used to order seafood dishes from there for parties, but I don't remember eating any of it.
I didn't take many pictures from dinner due to a dying cell phone. I was able to get a picture with a couple of my friends and my mixed drink.
Supposedly this is a Zombie. I had a couple of Zombies at Kayo and they were pretty damn good. Maybe a little too good. So good that I can say without a doubt that it is the reason why it took two hours to go from New City back to the hotel, normally a 15 minute drive. It is also the reason why I got all sailor mouthed and um... uber competitive. (Take note: if you don't like trash talking, do not hang around when I am drinking)
The dining area is one big open room, with a bar on the left hand side next to a waiting area as you enter the restaurant. There are tables that run along the walls, and a mix of small square tables and larger round tables. That evening the dining crowd was small, but it is probably because we were eating late. We waited for a few minutes while they set up a table for eight. I don't really see why there would be a wait, when I saw a few tables already set up for our party, but I let it slide.
Waiting seemed to be the theme of the night. We sat there waiting for a server to come around and take drink orders. We sat there waiting a very long time until a server came back to take our dinner orders. It wasn't busy, so there was no need to wait, but we were still missing three people so that could be a reason why.
I ordered Beef with Scallions. It was alright, nothing spectacular. Most people ordered the dinner combination, that came with soup. Tea and water were complimentary, and the fried noodles were replenished.
I don't recall what the bill came out to, but for six people it was well over a hundred dollars.
Don't think I'll be going back here any time soon.
