Christmas Highlights

I’m actually sad about the turkey I cooked. It came with one of those pop up button things and when that told me it was done, I took it out, and let it sit. Brought it to my aunt’s house, where it sat for a few more hours before it was eaten. IT WAS DRY! The bacon wrapping, butter patting, broth basting did nothing to help make that turkey meat moist. I bought a non-Butterball turkey, and one that wasn’t injected with anything. Perhaps that played into the dry turkey.

We also had lechon kawali, which is roasted pork. My uncle, who is cutting off the very last bit of meat off that bone there, is responsible for that porky goodness. First he boiled it, and then roasted, and we ended up with moist meat with extra crispy skin. Dip that in some lechon sauce… heaven.

My cousin recently turned 21 this year, so naturally all the older cousins had to break her into our family traditions. Not to mention she seems like such a noob when it comes to alcoholic beverages. And when she’s not trying to be, can be hilarious. Don’t believe me? Let’s look at the video… shall we?
