Santacruzan Food
I always thought that Santacruzan was just some parade that you had to get dressed up for and hopefully nobody you knew was watching as you walked along the route. I just recently found out that not only is it a parade of sorts, but it is also a religious beauty pageant.
Really.
The crowns and the sashes should have been an obvious sign, but I chalked that up to Filipinos being Filipinos. And don't you be hating on me for that blanket statement... but really, Filipinos can really be OA. Di ba?
I was there primarily for the food.
Clockwise: Sweet & sour fish, pancit, rice, pinakbet, lechon, and menudo.
The food line was insanely long. Not wanting to stand on line, I waited until the crowd had died down. There were at least 200 people there, so I was waiting for a while. By the time I made it to the front of the line, the sweet spaghetti was gone, but there was plenty of lechon left.
