On Saturday, M and I took a trip downtown to see what Troy Pig Out was all about. If it wasn’t so hot I would have wanted to stick around a little longer. We did a quick lap of the vendors and contestants area. I was too busy going around ooh and ahhing, so picture taking duties fell on M.
I finally settled on a pulled pork sandwich from Hickory Barbeque and Smokehouse. The pork was topped with coleslaw and sweet pickles, which went well together. I’m not a big fan of either slaw or sweet pickles, but I gobbled those two up… and wanted more. The meat was okay, but it seemed slightly dry. If I had added more sauce, it would have made for a really tasty meal.

love the photos!
I was there on Sunday and we shared the Hickory 2 meat plate...brisket and pulled pork...both very good and the sauces were on the side so we got to try a few of them.
We were disappointed that Dinosaur ran out of food for dinner on saturday so we had the ribs at Hickory. They were so good we got back on line to try the chicken thighs. TRULY AMAZING. Moist, meaty delish. Followed with and Ice cream from the snowman. What a great meal.
