Steel Cut Oats

Here's my attempt at eating better in ohnine. I'm not really a big oatmeal fan, but I'm willing to give it another shot. Instead of the quick cooking oats, I bought some steel cut oats. As I've read in various blogs, steel cut oats store well making it something to cook in big batches on Sunday and dole out in containers for the week.

The most well known of the steel cut oats is the McCann's Irish Oatmeal. You might not know it by name, but I'm sure you'll recognize their metal tin. Other brands such as Bob's Red Mill, Arrowhead Mill, Hodgson's Mill, and Quaker sell steel cut oats as well.
