Blue Sky Natural Soda

Yes, I drink water. And juice. And tea. And coffee. But I really like those bubbles. So I try to quench my bubble cravings with seltzer. This usually hits the spot, but… sometimes I just get a hankering for soda, ya know?

In my quest to find an alternative to the HCFS filled brands, here is what I found.

Orange Soda

Royal Tru is a brand sold in the Philippines, and part of the Coca-Cola company (San Miguel Breweries originally came out with it). Aside from Sarsi, it's the only other brand I'm familiar with that isn't alcoholic. If you're curious, they sell it at Tropical Hut on Rt. 304 in Nanuet.

I'm not really an orange soda fan, but it was nice. I was slightly tempted to have it in a little sandwich bag with a straw... like I did back in the Philippines. I don't know if it would be appreciated here though.

I wonder if they sell these at the Asian Supermarket... I'd brave the strange smells to get it.

Faygo

Seeing that I was trying all these Michigan foods, the next logical step would be to have a Michigan drink. And what would that drink be? Why, Faygo of course!

What... you've never heard of Faygo?

I keed, I keed... The only reason I know about it is because of M. They have your usual flavors (cola, orange, grape, root beer), but it's the not so usual ones that got me interested. I bought the Rock & Rye in hopes that it would be good.

Fail.

It was way too sweet. It was liquid candy, the exact candy I couldn't say... but it definitely had that candy flavor. It was only until I got back home (hours and hours later) when I figured out what it tasted like. Skittles Rock & Rye is Skittles soda!
